Below are the lyrics for the songs on our current album “13” -
Bunker Hill © 2013 Matthew Williams
I hear them coming every word I speak
Echoes like cannon fire from peak to peak
The mountains tremble the walls they shake
As he gets closer the strongest will begins to break
chorus
Red eyes burning as the heat it cracks the ground
Company 1 turns, no one can make a sound
We marched to bunker hill that final day
Not many of my comrades lived to march away
800 wounded, 200 dead
Marched out of Charlestown as the day broke read
Breeds hill was under siege Cambridge was lost
Boston was taken, no rebel hand
Yankee forces they had stole the land
They left no crops and soil nothing alive
They burnt homes to the ground, no one there could long survive
Last Gang In Town © 2013 Matthew Williams
chorus
We were the last gang in town
We put up a fight we isn't going down
We were the last gang in town
We've always been here we'll always be around
We arrived at ten at the village fair
All our friends were assembled there
We drank all night on whiskey and porter
Drank till we couldn't stand
Adnams by the bottle San Miguel by the glass
We were roaring and storming
No drink did we pass
We played on late on that stage
Kings of the world or so did feel
Well my friends you know used to live around here
No I haven't seen them in years
They're probably running firms up in London town
No reminders round here anymore
Our friends have moved on dunno where they've gone
They never seem to call no never not at all
And even though this towns pretty small
You'd think they'd remember their past
How much have you had I bet I've had more
I can't even make it though your front door
Pass out at dawn sleep through the morn
Then wake and do it again
That first taste of romance on a Saturday night
Alcohol friends a fire alight
Things are going my way hope they never go away
God willing I'll never have to say goodbye
Don't leave me by the wayside I'll meet you on the other side
Into the unknown we won't go it alone
You've got no one to answer to apart from yourself
This could be a problem put your pride on the shelf
The Man I've Become © 2013 Matthew Williams
Well I know well I know
One day I'll wake a tired and broken man
No one beside me no one out there to hold my hand
My sins repaid 10,000 times worse they could be
And that hallowed ghost avoided will be me
chorus
I'll never know that my sins my sins can't be undone
Please will you show me another course to run
And when you leave the end has only just begun
When you see the man that I've become
I've seen the scars
Left upon this land by the war I've seen the tears, seen them fall
And added to the score the warnings come
So many that they just fly by and when I'm done
In the dark I hear the sirens cry
Four Blind Horses © 2013 Matthew Williams
Four horsemen came riding over the moor
They stopped at the inn and opened the door
They spoke not a word and never showed face
They came from a barren and desolate place
chorus
The cold wind is howling it carries my name
I'll die if I ever see these horsemen again
Coal black as the night the horses outside
Their eyes never seeing the evil inside
As cold as the sea as wild as the moor
I stopped at the inn and opened the door
Thunderous hooves the wind in the mane
The crack of the whips out over the plain
As though in a dream a motionless stride
Four blind horses they charge by my side
When I'm Gone © 2013 Matthew Williams
Close behind me is the shadow, the shadow of a dream
Right in front is the man that I could have been
I'll never get there, hell I know that for sure
Right behind is where I should have been before
chorus
Love has left you all alone
A kick to the teeth in the back of the room
Love has left you all alone
An empty heart, a broken shell you’re out in the cold
I got my story man, it’s tattooed on my arms
I got scars coz I never steered away from harm
I'll tell you now don’t follow down my way
Please promise me babe that you’ll never stray
I've done my wrongs, baby, listen to my song
Keep my children well, I hope they never sing along
Remember me after I'm long gone from your sight
Think of me please when I'm in a nicer light
The cobbled streets and broken homes
Of a long forgotten place
You can see the sadness etched
Into every person’s face
Guildings reeking sorrow, signposts bleeding age
I gotta be right out of this place
Frustration builds inside me, the rage is burning through
I'm all caught up in anger and also feeling blue
Looking at some pictures of my friends from years ago
I gotta go, I just gotta go
Ain't It Lucky © 2013 Matthew Williams
There's no excuses
No you can't use them
Even if you think your losing
You can't take it out on me
As luck would have it this hand ain't bad
Two aces and a double queen
Your life ain't bad you got it good
Unlike many I have seen
chorus
Ain't it lucky girl
How you made it to this day
Ain't it a shame that it ended up this way
From your lips I hear a mumble
From your eyes spring a lie
From your feet I see a stumble
Then you turn and you say goodbye
Bad choices create desperation
Turned upside down by medication
Then all goes to isolation
Your friends know you live a lie
You whinge and whine all your time
Like your the victim of an awful crime
I'm fed up and sick your outta line
I'll turn and walk away
The Cold Embrace of the Sea © 2013 Matthew Williams
It's been a long time since I last saw my family
It's been a long time since I've been gone
My world has changed its turned upside down
All I once knew has long gone
But for now I sit and stare at the wall
I've pulled a curtain from my eyes
A roaring rage has filled my heart but left me empty
A golden tear has spilled from my eye
chorus
I've been away I've been away for eternity
I've been away but I'm coming back to you
Insanity starts to creep into my head
Lurking demons they hide under the bed
The ship rocks fast upon the barren sea
Down in the hold a mad man screams
Now how the hell did I wind up in this jail
I don't think that I'm lucky I don't think I'll make bail
Next time were at sea maybe they'll bury me
Next time were at sea I'll be gone
You open your paper and the columns are all red
Red with the blood that's bled while you slept
All over the world everything is wrong
No one's singing the old redemption songs
Freedom songs are stacked by the wall
No echo of laughter is heard in the hall
Maybe their just sleeping or maybe they are dead
Everyone's forgotten the words that you said
The Churches © 2013 Matthew Williams
My father was a king I haven’t got an idol
Now crimson bleeding rose burning down from on high
The throne of kings is empty the crown collecting thorns
Dust grows on the graveside of a long derelict dream
chorus
The churches are all silent no wedding bells are ringing
No angels here are singing and everyone’s long gone
Jesus went to feed the 1000 bread and water, wine and blood
He came back home, destroyed a nation crushing faces into mud
Moses stood on the red sea shore smote the water with a 2x4
Pharaoh’s army drowneded here oh Mary, don’t you weep
chorus
Don’t fill yourself with guilt don’t fill yourself with shame
Give in to your temptations keep on playing the game
I got a gun and a loaded round an empty bottle and an empty heart
I'm staring at a black wall because the worlds been torn apart
The bars been calling, I'm barely standing I've burnt every bridge to the ground
In desolation and desperation I give up, I'm homeward bound
Abandon Hope © 2013 Matthew Williams
The harvest has been fruitless this year
The land has been drenched in a flood of war
Every mother’s eye has glistened with tears
As our sons return never more
chorus
All is lost, abandon hope send my body to the sea
Put a nail in my coffin send my body to the deep
Bury me in the rolling waves my soul will carry on
I'll settle in the deep blue sea it’s here where I belong
I wander the fields that I've walked all my life
Among the hawthorn and gauze near my home
We're no longer taught the art of my time
Caught in a world we built all alone
Can you see what every poor man sees
When he's crippled broken on his knees
Through the mist rolling off the seas
Come to crash upon the shore
From empty door to helping hand
To a bottle buried in the sand
Please let go of what you can
And leave with the best of grace
Rained So Hard © 2013 Matthew Williams
It rained so hard the well got filled
Little Johnny fell in we know he got killed
We know he died down that dark old well
On that dismal day when the rain it fell
chorus
That December day when the rain came down
It felt like the whole wide world had drowned
The sky went black, black as hell
That December day when the rain it fell
It rained so hard the clouds came down
A thunderhead roared all over town
Lightning split the jet black sky
Little Johnny was about to die
When help it came and mother cried
With ladders and ropes the men they tried
They tried so hard to save that lad
But Johnny was dead and the world grew sad
They buried him way up that hill
Far from the well the well that filled
In cowls of black and a blood red rose
Beneath a stormy sky and a single black crow
I Ran © 2013 Matthew Williams
Well I ran and I ran
I ran so hard I got back to where I began
We left this town as the sun went down
Then I ran through the night until I hit the ground
chorus
I ran such a long way so far I couldn’t say
From a place of desolation I ran away
The sun was hot the sand was dry
Dust and rocks and empty roads everything left to die
I sat down though the land was dead
An old man walking past sat down next to me and said
They destroyed our people they destroyed our homes
And left us here with nothing, nothing but skin and bone
I got up and started running from a place left far behind
These people were wiped of the map they were one of a kind
Well I had shame inside of me
And the worst thing was I would never be free
And not for any money not all the gold in Spain
Would I return into a world of shame
Sinful Maggie © 2013 Matthew Williams
Sinful Maggie went a walking way down by the water
I asked if I could join and she replied to me with laughter
She made my blood run cold as ice as I sat down on the floor
I knew I'd paid the highest price and my heart was torn and sore
You made a few wrong choices growing up outside of town
Now you grab a bat and knuckles when you hear it going down
You see living as the problem but dying seems a shame
You’re a traitor to your own beliefs and the only one to blame
chorus
Sinful Maggie's seen you coming
And she knows you’re loose and running
She'll be free from all your gunning
With a heart as black as coal
I woke up many, many times when I was all alone
Sinful Maggie was with another in a great palatial home
She’s in arms but they ain't mine I want her now with me
She’s a bitch I love her but she’s blind to what I see
She's a devil and a demon, she's an angel....
...
...
...
And the last I remember when she moved to the door
Was a silent footstep making circles on the floor
The dust fell slowly shattered glass came raining down
A clenched fist an eye the clocked stopped going round
It feels like a shackle from it you're never free
A rope around your neck and although you're blind to see
It's nothing to remember and it's so much to regret
I won't be looking back and I ain't gonna regret
